Carnival of Little Feet, Third Edition

I am thrilled that we have more entries for the ongoing Carnival of Little Feet.  If you haven't yet seen the first and second editions, please check out those gorgeous little toes!

My favorite soul from across the sea, Kathryn, the Bookworm, sends a beautiful photo of Little Cherub's tiny toes.  Aren't they heavenly?

Lissa has a whole bunch of beautiful photos of her kids over at the Bonny Glen.  Not only are those children extremely photogenic, but little Rilla certainly has some really delicious piggies!

Now, if anyone knows female toes, its Amy from Among Women.  She has a house full of delightful little girls who have so graciously sent us this gorgeous group shot. 

Lastly, I thought I would add my own contribution to the Carnival of Little Feet.  Here are my own Benjamin's feet, taken six years ago.  On that same day, I also shot the photo that adorns my Babylove header, Christopher's tender toes at six months of age.

Karen Edmisten shares a photo of Ramona's feet.  Not only does Ramona have some cute little toes but she is constantly making me laugh.  When I am grumpy, I go to Karen's blog and read the Ramona posts.  Always makes me feel better.  Thanks Ramona!

Another wonderful Karen, of Cirque de Moi, has submitted this great shot of her little one's tiny piggies.  So very sweet! 

These feet were sent in by Cheryl of My Thoughtful Spot.  She sure does have delightful baby toes as well as some very squeezable legs!  She reminds me of someone else I know.

Carnival of Little Feet

So many of you responded by sending your photos! I am delighted!  Here is the first batch of baby feet photos sure to make you smile.  I will post the pictures a few at a time, as they come in, like an ongoing "Carnival of Little Feet".

This photo of Sweet Karoline's feet, sent by Elizabeth, was taken on her baptism day.  Those tiny little feet in their pure white booties are just so beautiful, aren't they?

Next are baby Eileen's delicate set of ten pink and perfect toes taken at two weeks of age, sent by Alice of Cottage Blessings.   

Here is a line of happy feet submitted by Suzanne of Gladdest Hours.  All those toes in a row are irresistible!

Suzanne also sent another great shot.  I love how they all blend into one jumble of fingers and toes!

These beautiful, newborn, wrinkled soles, fresh from God, were sent by Kim of Starry Sky Ranch. What a gorgeous photo!

 

Cay Gibson has a fond memory of a relaxing summer day.  She shares this photo of her daughter's little sandy foot.

Jen, from As Cozy as Spring, sends us this lovely fall picture of her little one's darling toes!  Couldn't you just kiss them all?

Here's a pair that shouldn't be missed! These dainty sweet feet belong to little Miss Mae, over at Joyful Chaos. 

Melissa, at Bountiful Blessings, shares this "before" shot of her daughter's tiny tootsies prior to buying her first pair of shoes.  Click here to see her pretty new shoes.

Nurturing the Adopted Child

Helen, at Castle Immaculate, is the mother of seven blessings.  She has begun a series of posts that will help mothers of adopted children to bond with their little ones.  Her first post is entitled Winning Your Child, followed by a continuation about the importance of keeping the baby close by using a sling.  She gives helpful information for mothers who will be feeding their little one with a bottle in her post called Winning Your Child with Bottle Feeding. 

Helen's entire weblog is a treasure of information for Catholic parents.  She has many informative posts regarding the adoption process and parenting in general that are full of wisdom and loving kindness.  Please stop by!  You'll be glad you did.

Kisses and Light

Annie said her first word today.  She has been saying Mama and Dada for quite some time.  She also is fond of signing "more" and "milk" (which to her, means nursing).  But today, an official, non-babble, audible word came from her mouth at Mass.  That word was "light".  She said it over and over again while pointing, with her little dimpled finger, to the lights hanging from the ceiling in the church. 

She was so very happy with herself that she proceeded to give me many, many kisses throughout the remainder of Mass.  These are the wet, open mouthed kisses that are often somewhat painful due for the recipient due to the erupting teeth of the giver, the kisses that leave a puddle of saliva on your cheek. 

We sat in the front row at Mass today, with many little old ladies in the row behind us.  They were all distracted by Annie repeatedly saying "light" and were oohing and aahing at all the kisses she was handing out to her Mama. 

I always feel a bit bad when my children do anything that distracts people from Mass.  But sometimes, I think that God places baby-hungry people near us so they can get their baby fix that they haven't had in so very long.  Annie plays right along, smiling and hiding her face from the people behind us who are egging her on.

Seems as though so many older people don't get the chance to hold, much less see a baby that often so who am I to deprive them?  Yes, I probably could take her in out (and I would if she were loud or unruly) but I like to think of it as Annie's little ministry to lonely people.
